BRING LIL PETER TO LIFE AT YOUR SCHOOL!
Turn reading into an experience students will remember.
Bring co-authors Peter Valdez III and Tasche Laine into your school for a fun, interactive author visit built around storytelling, creativity, character development, and the excitement of making books.
Inspired by real childhood experiences, the Lil Peter series uses colorful adventures and relatable challenges to explore friendship, kindness, empathy, teamwork, confidence, perseverance, responsibility, leadership, and making thoughtful choices.
These visits are more than traditional book readings. Peter and Tasche invite students into the creative process—encouraging them to ask questions, share ideas, use their imaginations, and discover that their own experiences can become meaningful stories.
STUDENTS WILL DISCOVER
During the presentation, students receive a kid-friendly, behind-the-scenes look at how a book develops from a simple idea into a finished story.
Students can learn:
Where authors find ideas for stories
How real experiences can inspire fictional adventures
How characters and story problems are developed
How authors, illustrators, editors, and publishers work together
Why revising and improving a story is part of the creative process
How the choices characters make connect to situations in their own lives
The presentation also creates opportunities for age-appropriate social-emotional learning conversations about kindness, teamwork, resilience, solving problems, learning from mistakes, believing in yourself, and understanding how our choices affect others.
Most importantly, students leave with an empowering message:
Your ideas matter. Your experiences matter. Your voice matters. And your story is worth telling.
DESIGNED FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Lil Peter author visits are best suited for Kindergarten through fourth grade and can be presented to individual classrooms, multiple classes, school assemblies, libraries, literacy programs, and family-reading events.
Presentations are adapted for different grade levels. Younger students can focus on colorful characters, interactive storytelling, and simple life lessons. Older elementary students can explore character decisions, story development, creative writing, collaboration, and how books are made.

EVENT DISCOUNTS
MORE THAN STORY TIME
A memorable author visit helps children understand that books do not simply appear on a shelf.
Someone imagined the story.
Someone believed in the idea.
Someone kept working until the book was finished.
Peter and Tasche want students to leave excited about reading, creating, asking questions, treating others with kindness, and believing they have something worthwhile to contribute.
Bring Lil Peter to your school and turn story time into an adventure your students can experience, discuss, and remember.

BRING MYSTERY, CREATIVITY, AND STORYTELLING TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL
Inspire students to read, write, and discover the stories only they can tell.
Bring award-winning author, educator, and publisher Tasche Laine to your school for an engaging presentation that takes students behind the scenes of writing, revising, and publishing a novel.
Tasche is the creator of the Chronicles of V teen mystery series and the founder of Skye Blue Press. Drawing from her experience as a high-school English teacher, Hollywood studio teacher, journalist, editor, publisher, and creative mentor, she gives students a realistic and encouraging look at what it takes to turn an idea into a finished book.
These visits are more than traditional author talks. Tasche invites students into the creative process through meaningful conversation, real-world examples, interactive activities, and honest insight into the persistence required to develop a story and bring it to readers.
STUDENTS WILL DISCOVER
During the presentation, students explore how authors transform ideas and real-life experiences into compelling fiction.
Students can learn:
How real experiences can inspire fictional stories
How authors create memorable characters
How suspense, mystery, and tension keep readers engaged
How to develop conflict, clues, and unexpected twists
Why revision is one of the most important parts of writing
How editors and publishers help prepare a manuscript
What happens between completing a manuscript and publishing a book
Why creativity, patience, and perseverance are essential to the process
Most importantly, students are encouraged to recognize that their ideas, experiences, perspectives, and voices have value.

DESIGNED FOR HIGH-SCHOOL READERS AND WRITERS
Tasche’s presentations are ideal for high-school English classes, literature programs, journalism students, creative-writing courses, school libraries, book clubs, assemblies, and career-focused educational events.
Programs can be adapted for students who already love reading and writing as well as those who may not yet see themselves as readers, authors, or creative thinkers.
Students do not need to arrive with a finished story—or even consider themselves writers. They only need curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to explore where an idea might lead.
EVERY CLUE LEADS TO A BIGGER STORY
A powerful author visit can help students see books differently. Every novel begins with an idea, but completing it takes imagination, revision, problem-solving, discipline, and the courage to keep going.
Tasche wants students to leave with a stronger appreciation for storytelling, a clearer understanding of the publishing process, and greater confidence in their ability to create something meaningful.
Bring Tasche Laine to your school and give students an inside look at mystery writing, creative storytelling, and the journey from an idea to a published book.
